Ceremony: St.Mary’s Church
Wedding Planner: Making Memories by Christina
MUA: Jessie Tabla
Music: Jan Sax
Reception: The Address, Montgomerie
This probably is the biggest wedding we have ever covered. And this probably is our longest post because of the number of photos we will be including. I can’t help it, I have a ton of favorites and that is only for the first day. There is so much to tell with Rejin and Suzy’s wedding – from their love story which started out in friendship, to his proposal when he surprised her in Washington, to their ceremony in St. Mary’s Church, their private celebration in Montgomerie up to their grand wedding in the Asateer tent in Atlantis the Palm, this is truly one BIG, FAT, Indian wedding. I don’t want to include details because this post might turn out to a novel. It is a beautiful love story…and that is all I can say…like a romantic comedy movie in Bollywood!
When we met Rejin and Suzy for the first time, we knew that their wedding will be something like no other. They were so in love and constantly joked with one another. This couple will never have a boring moment together, that’s for sure. They have planned for a wedding that will not only bring their families and friends together but they wanted to make sure they all had a great time.
We have never seen so many people in St.Mary’s Church for a wedding. Christina of Making Memories made sure that the church was well-decorated with elaborate arches from the entrance. She organized every little detail for Rejin and Suzy’s wedding. Ptr Tom conducted the wedding and the mass and of course, he threw in some jokes which made the congregation laugh. Rejin and Suzy had a shy kiss which Ptr Tom called a brotherly kiss. Maybe that is how you will kiss when hundreds of people are watching you. 🙂
After the ceremony, they had a photo session right outside the church which took almost as long as the ceremony because of the number of guests. After the photo session, they sped off in their Audi top-down sports car and according to Suzy, they had to stop at a pharmacy to get sunblock! This two makes me laugh.
We met after a few hours in the The Address Montgomerie for a photo session. Here are a few of our favorites.
A few blocks from the Montgomerie, Rejin and Suzy had a traditional Indian ceremony where she first goes to his home and have prayers.
While the guests trickled in, we took a few shots of some of the beautiful details done by Christina. We love how she thoughtfully arranged a welcome table with shawls for those who will feel cold. Well, we also grabbed one because the night grew really cold and temperature went down to 11 degrees. Brrrrr…..
I think it got a bit warmer when the guests came in and brought with them warm smiles and greetings. 🙂
After the cake cutting, Rejin and Suzy danced their first dance with a surprise song played by John Sax which Suzy arranged for Rejin. It was his favorite song and Rejin loves to listen to sax music. It was a party attended by close friends and family. There was a photoboth on the corner with a bamboo backdrop and rustic props. The guests rocked that corner and couldn’t wait for their photos to be taken. Camera-hams! There was also a puzzle tree where they wrote their messages to the couple. Before the night ended, Rejin and Suzy let out a flying lantern and kissed to seal the night. It was an amazing and exciting day for us.
We would like to give special thanks to Harry Cruz who was our second shooter for that day and Allan Roska, our co-videographer. But that’s not the end, a bigger party was being brewed for the next day. Soon on this blog!!!
