This Dusit Thani Dubai wedding of Merrick and Hannah rocks! Why did I say so? With a bridal gown which weighed like 50 pounds, studded rubber shoes as the bridal shoes, printed groom socks, a wedding gown trail which rivaled Princess D’s epic gown, an orange Camaro limo, a live band which rocked the party til wee hours, and of course a very cool couple with an equally cool & sweet (sweet like a slurpee under the melting sun kinda cool) love story …then I therefore conclude that this wedding truly rocks…
Hannah is a bubbly and outgoing girl with her mum as her best buddy. She is carefree and had a positive disposition. Merrick on the other hand is not as boisterous as Hannah but has a great sense of humor. He also plays in a band which makes him equally cool as Hannah. Asked when he realized Hannah was the one for him, he always told the time he was telling one of his jokes and Hannah laughed so hard the orange juice she was drinking went out of her nose. This couple is one perfect pair, they fit each other to a T.
Their wedding day was fun and we had fun shooting it. There was never a hint of stress on their day. They laughed, they drank, and let the tears just flow. Even during the ceremony, there was laughter as Father Tom delivered his homily with humor. And just watch his reaction when they decided to kiss without his cue!
After the ceremony, we headed to Dusit Thani for Hannah to refresh and some “couple time” when we take couple’s portraits.
During the reception, they made sure everyone felt at ease, had fun and dance all night long. Errol Goveas of Pure Magic Events made sure about that too. He was the emcee and sang with the band at the same time and we recommend him to couples who wants to have a rockin’ party! We even broke one of the photographer’s golden rule that night – never dance in a party you are shooting for. But we just couldn’t control our feet!
Most couples we shoot we get to be friends with. As we follow this couple on facebook and see their adventures around the globe and how much they celebrate life, we get to look back on our own. Most people lose these moments because they are too caught up with the busy-ness and trying to make everything perfect. Maybe we should try laughing like Hannah, singing like Merrick and choose to be happy.
