A youngsters party on a Gugu boat, a Haldi gathering at the groom’s house, Mehndi party at the bride’s house, a Gurudwara Temple blessing, a Christian wedding ceremony topped by a grand reception at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel – 4 days, 2 different religion, 2 big families, and 9 years of togetherness – this ONE is a BIG, FAT DUBAI INDIAN WEDDING!!!!
Abhinav and Navroop met 9 years ago and clicked instantly. When their 9 years worth of photos were shown during their pre-wedding party on a Gugu Boat, we felt being taken back in time and witnessing their love endure the test of time. They were two very different people, Abhinav grew up in a Christian home and Navroop is from the Sikh religion. But both have free hearts and a love for adventure. They are fun loving and yet both are very humble. Shooting their wedding and being with them for 4 days helped us get to know them better and their families. They both are very loving children to their parents too.
We enjoy shooting Indian weddings because they are so rich in color and like most other weddings, they are filled with emotions. We have a ton of images to share but hopefully these will be enough tell their story – a summary of 4 days.
Haldi and Mehndi – ask any of your Indian friends and I am sure they will tell you how these wedding traditions are both symbolic and fun.
Here are photos from the youngsters party on a Gugu boat. We thought the boat was going to sink with all the dancing and thumping the guests did! 🙂
And the ceremonies that will bind their souls forever…
And here are the photos from the reception in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel that capped off the 4 day celebration!
And I think after 4 tiring fun-filled days,…these two deserves a warm hug from each other. Congratulations Abhinav and Navroop!
If you have not seen their video yet, here it is!
