What are weddings for?
It is an ephemeral celebration of the union of two souls who promises one another eternity. The flowers, the food, the dancing are all short-lived and all that will remain of the wedding is a memory. But a marriage is the one that should be perpetual.
Sarah and Nik’s wedding was a perfect portrayal of their love and of their personalities. No frills, no pressure – just a simple gathering of true friends and family with the best view in Dubai. Their wedding was held in Folly by Nick and Scott in Madinat Jumeirah. I love this place because it has the best view of the old architecture of Souk Madinat Jumeirah and the grand Burj Al Arab. You could watch the old abras float by the canal carrying tourists and guests. Calm and relaxing – it was the overall vibe of the wedding. Everyone chilled and watched the sunset as they celebrated Nik and Sarah’s union which was officiated by Helen Farmer of HS Celebrants. After sundown, a sumptuous candlelit dinner was served while speeches were delivered by the father of the bride, the groom and the best man. The red brick wall was the perfect setting to this intimate dinner.
After dinner, everyone chilled at the rooftop as they partied underneath the stars. The party continued throughout the night but we wrapped up after the romantic first dance. Thank you Sarah and Nik for showing us that a beautiful wedding can be better under the stars, that the most beautiful venues are not in palaces and the best ones are the ones celebrated with friends and family.
