What makes a wedding truly beautiful?
When we meet couples and show them our full portfolio, most of them get ideas from other couples in terms of decor, wedding dress, poses, venues, etc. They ask us about tips for their wedding day and we send them a guide which we came up with to answer those FAQs. One of the most frequently asked question is what was the most beautiful wedding we have covered or if we have suggestions to have a beautiful wedding day. Honestly, we have covered really beautiful and memorable weddings and some were just ok. But what makes a wedding really beautiful for us is not the decor nor the venue…but how in love the couple was and how happy the guests were. When our cameras capture those genuine smiles and fun moments, others see it as a really happy wedding…well IT IS! No frills, no drama, no hang ups…just pure love and fun.
I want to blog about this wedding we shot more than a year ago to illustrate what a beautiful wedding is like…
Jeanette was having the best morning of her life surrounded by family and friends when she got a call from the Palm Jumeirah community management that they cannot let some vendors in due to some missing paperworks. (They are celebrating an intimate wedding dinner in a Palm Jumeirah villa later after the ceremony). Then later, her limo didn’t arrive and she was already 30 mins late for the ceremony. She arrived 1 hr late at the Holy Trinity where Mark was patiently waiting. Then on the way back to the villa at the Palm for dinner, they ordered coffee which accidentally spilled on her wedding gown. Then another call from the community management came saying that some guests were not allowed to enter the community because of permits and paperwork again. These things should have been enough to ruin Mark and Jeanette’s day…But these two didn’t let these issues bring them down. They refused to get affected on their wedding day. In the end, everyone had a real blast at the party and Mark & Jeanette had a BEAUTIFUL wedding day.
There is NO perfect wedding. You will plan months ahead for your dream wedding day and one way or the other, something will not go according to your plan. You can choose to frown about it all day long or you can choose to just let it go and enjoy the day. How do you want to remember that day?
