17 Years Later: We’re Still Here
Seventeen years feels like a long time. Looking back, it’s honestly hard to believe that what started with two people wanting to take better wedding photos has become what Melrish is today.
The event industry has changed so much over the years. Trends come and go. Social media changes every few months. Couples see weddings differently now than they did years ago.
Yet somehow, through all those changes, we’re still here.
Not because we figured everything out.
But because God has never stopped leading us.
How We Started
It all started with one simple thought.
Arish and I loved weddings, but whenever we looked at wedding photos back then, something felt missing. Most photos were very posed, very directed, and honestly… a little cringey. They looked nice, but they didn’t always feel real.
We wanted to photograph what was actually happening.
The laughs that weren’t planned.
The tears nobody expected.
The hugs that happened naturally.
We wanted people to remember how the day felt, not just how they stood for a photo.
Then something unexpected happened.
Our very first client happened to be an Indian wedding. They believed in our vision, flew us all the way to India, and trusted us with one of the biggest days of their lives.
Looking back now, that first “yes” changed everything.
How We’ve Changed Over the Years
The Industry Changed. Our Purpose Didn’t.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned in 17 years, it’s that this industry never stands still.
Styles change.
Trends come and go.
One year everyone loves dramatic poses. The next year everyone wants motion blur and candid moments.
Sometimes it can feel like you’re always trying to catch up.
There were many moments when we honestly didn’t know what the next step was.
But every single time, God reminded us that while methods can change, purpose doesn’t.
People often ask who runs Melrish.
We always smile and say the same thing.
God is our CEO.
Not Melon.
Not Arish.
From the very beginning until today, we’ve seen Him open doors we never expected. He’s given us wisdom when we didn’t know what to do. He’s provided clients, projects, friendships, and opportunities that we could never have planned ourselves.

The Goal Has Always Been the Same
More Than Photos. More Than Videos.
At the end of the day, our goal has never been to simply create beautiful images.
We want people to feel something when they look back years later.
We want them to remember the hugs.
The laughter.
The quiet moments before walking down the aisle.
The imperfect moments that somehow become the most unforgettable ones.
Real stories have always been at the heart of Melrish.
Every couple, every family, every event has a story worth remembering, and it’s a privilege that we get to tell it.
We simply want to serve the people God places in front of us every single day and take care of the stories He allows us to witness.
