We were so busy the past months shooting, editing, and traveling we didn’t realize that we passed our seven year anniversary in the photography industry. SEVEN BLESSED YEARS!!! Woot! Woot!
It was in 2009 we shot our first paid wedding. It was in 2009 we first traveled to Philippines and then to India for a destination wedding. We had 7 weddings that year and now we have happily shot more than 200 plus weddings. We have met so many kind couples who became friends. Some of them, we have shot the maternity photos and even their children’s first birthday parties. I suddenly feel old but it is an honor to be part of families we met through photography.
70% of our clients are from word of mouth so we thank those who have shared their wedding photos and videos and credited us. It is such a special feeling to get a call or an email from a couple asking us to be their wedding storytellers because their friend told them about us.
Our journey as Dubai wedding photographers wasn’t an easy one. It wasn’t rosy and happy all the time. As a photographer starting a business and trying to thrive in the industry wasn’t easy. The decision to jump from freelance photography to full time was a very difficult decision. We faced struggles in establishing the company and budgeting the finances for an office, for all the equipment, for hiring people and for all other things. I think the hardest part was trying to do all the aspects of the business in the beginning. I had to wear the accountant hat, the admin hat, the HR hat, the marketing hat, the graphics design hat besides my photo & video hat while having a full time job. Getting processes setup and hiring the right people was key to making life easier. I still have to wear most of those hats sometimes but we are happy to say that we have a team that we can trust. But after all the difficult decisions, sleepless nights, money-costing mistakes and long shoot days, we do not have any regrets. We learned from our mistakes and we have grown as individuals and as a company.
Looking back at those seven years worth of photos and videos, our photos have improved but our style has not changed. We always wanted to be fine art wedding photojournalists…not the traditional, not the too posed, not edgy,..And we are still learning and improving our crafts.
Cheers to seven years! Cheers to more! Thank you to all our couples and friends who supported us. Looking forward to all the weddings and events we will shoot…all the places we will travel to. All these will not be possible without God…All glory to Him!
Here are some photos from Dec 2014. Hoping we can improve on blog posting the next years! 🙂
