This post will be longer than usual because there is so much to say about the love between Anthony and Karen and their big wedding day. This is their story….
We got a long distance call from Qatar one night and then everything was arranged through emails and skype. We never met this couple before so we were stoked when we they booked us for their wedding day. It was my first time to interview a couple (well, only Karen and I chatted) on Skype regarding details on their wedding day and their love story.
First time I ever stumble across “Pancake Tuesday“, when Anthony proposed to Karen. It was also the first time someone telling me about making 1,000 paper cranes wish someone a happy and long life. Karen made 1,000 colorful paper cranes which decorated the party hall at the Pearl. (There is a tradition in Japan that if you fold 1,000 paper cranes, you can have one wish granted.) SO after a year and 1,000 paper cranes, their big day came…with a big help from friends.
They are one of the coolest couple we have ever met (What do you expect from a couple who loves listening to the Beatles!) . Karen is a Filipina and Anthony is French but they both spent many of their years in Qatar. They are both extremely creative and they have poured all their creative juices on their BIG DAY which was planned with the tiniest detail …
from the groom’s and groomsmen’s socks,
to the jaw-dropping church decorations,
“i-wanna-have-those” guest souvenirs,
to the reception decoration details…(paper crane chandeliers and paper crane placecard holders!)
But it was not these details that made their wedding BEAUTIFUL…it was the love that exuded from Karen and Anthony, from each family member and friend who was there to bear witness to their union. Love that almost swept us off our feet…
As Karen and Anthony opened each of their gifts during the preparation…
As Karen’s mom fixed her dress and Anthony’s mom fixed her hair…(Gown by Cymbeline, shoes by Manolo Blahnik and make up by Devi Mendez)
As Karen’s friends and bridesmaids gave their legs up for her big day while getting teary-eyed…
As Anthony’s dad showed his expertise in making his sons look sleek and dapper…
As Anthony watched his bride walk down the aisle…
As they declared their vows to love each other forever,…
As they walked out of the church after the ceremony (these series of shots are my favorite!). Karen and Anthony, you are simply awesome. Your sweetness kills me…
As everyone rode the golf cart for some creative portraits unheeding the sun’s heat…
As very close friends joined them that night to celebrate their love…
And the list goes on. Happy is an understatement of how we feel being part of that lovely day. A BIG THANK YOU to Anthony and Karen for choosing us to tell their story…and it is truly a splendid story, worthy to be retold over and over again.
So we will leave the story-telling to the photos. Hope y’all like them.
