I love blogging and sharing the beautiful weddings we shoot but I have been slacking for the last couple of years. I have a lot of share-worthy weddings in our library so please forgive me if I will be blogging past weddings and some of them are even from early 2018.
Phuket, Thailand, here we come! Yes, you heard it right! We will be in Phuket Thailand next month to cover a 3 day Indian wedding. While we look forward to the white sandy beaches, here is a destination wedding in Sri Lanka which we covered last year. Mel and Josh booked Jetwing Blue Resort for their Roce and wedding reception. This couple grew up and met in Dubai but they decided to bring all their close family and friends to Sri Lanka.
The roce ceremony is a Mangalorean tradition that happens on the eve of the wedding. It is a ceremony wherein the bride and groom is anointed with coconut juice and will be given a hot water bath afterwards. Sometimes, the bride and groom gets smothered with more than coconut juice. Naughty guests and relatives sometimes include ketchup, mustard and eggs in the concoction. Nevertheless, it is a fun evening with games and dancing.
Mel and Josh’s wedding ceremony was held at the St.Mary’s Cathedral in Negombo.
After the ceremony, there was a slight drizzle. Good thing, their reception was planned to happen indoors in the wedding hall of Jetwing Blue Resort.
