This is the story of a love that endured the test of time…and us getting all excited shooting a wedding at the tallest building in the world!
Venue: Armani Hotel
Church: St.Francis of Assisi, Jebel Ali
Coordinator: Cornerstone by Wendell
Make Up Artist: Edielyn Menzies
We met Benjamin and Taniya at a coffee shop two months before the wedding. They were in a hurry because they needed to go to the US for their wedding there. They are a very simple couple who was down-to-earth. They have been together since early college days and they are finally tying the knot. They mentioned they were getting married in the Armani Hotel and after that I thought I have gone deaf because I couldn’t recall any other word they said after that. ARMANI HOTEL IN BURJ KHALIFA, THE TALLEST BUILDING IN THE WORLD?!!! FTW!!! That is all that got stuck in mind. If we get to shoot there, it would be a dream come true! It is gonna a big break for us. “AWESOMENESS!!!” But the I got pessimistic. They will not chose us. They will go for really famous photographers or they might fly famous photographers from US to shoot their wedding. Who am I kidding?
So when we got the call after a month that they chose us for their wedding day, I almost fell from my seat! God has sent another miracle. They said they love our photos and we are at par with international photographers. FLAT.TER.ING! Deal signed and all I had to do now was plan about that day. This is will be our first full video-coverage too so we had to rent a full HD video camera and call on super friends to handle that.
The day has arrived. I thought I was more jittery than the groom and the bride. THIS IS IT! But then I thought, this is just the same as any other wedding we covered. All we had to do is give our very best and stay alert as always. Being on tenterhooks was just draining all my mojo. So here are the photos.
Mom to the rescue!
On the other side of town…
A private moment as Benjamin whispered prayers before the wedding.
Here comes the bride! This is the moment the best man hands her the bouquet.
Her face tells me she is a bit nervous…
She is one blushing bride!
I like this photo capturing the second before their hands meet and hold.
Finally, they both do not seem to be nervous anymore! I love those smiles.
On to Armani Hotel! We had a short photo session for the couple and their families and their entourage.
The bride and her maids of honor having fun even though the party hadn’t started yet.
So while the couple and their entourage was waiting at their room, the party was getting started. Let’s get it started, uh!
After the grand entrance of the couple, they cut the cake and had the first dance. The bride and her father’s dance is always an emotional one. Some of the spectators got carried away and shed tears too.
An awesome band played throughout the night and the guest danced their shoes off. The party was a blast! And while the band played loudly and the guest boogied, the couple held hands and had quiet conversations. We are proud to capture this sweet and happy moment.
Dear Benjmain and Taniya,
It is our distinct pleasure that you chose us to tell your story. We are glad you enjoyed your night. We pray that you will face each tomorrow with the same joy and sweetness.
