We were so touched and honored when we were asked to photograph a very intimate occasion in Kanika and Michael’s lives. Only close family members and very few friends were invited to this simple affair to formalize their engagement.
Most of us thought the gathering was only a family get together so that families from both sides should get acquainted. We were swept away when Michael took out a small box and formally proposed in front of all of us.
We just love the expressions like this after Michael slipped the ring into Kanika’s finger. We even caught her still gazing at the ring afterwards.

Michael’s new apartment was perfect for the shoot. The wall colors were vibrant and the lighting was perfect creating natural vignettes. It seemed as if we were in a studio.
Whenever there are family gatherings such as this, most of the time little tots are present. We love their playfulness and their natural appeal in front of a camera. This set is classic. Ethan, the little boy on the left, is in front of the camera everywhere we turn. ☺
Let’s not forget about the great food whenever there are gatherings like this. After the formal proposal at Michael’s apartment, we all went to Kanika’s home where her mother prepared a delectable lunch.
