It’s the peak of the wedding season here in Dubai. Though I get so jealous with photographers miles across the world when they post their last weddings of the year (which means they get to spend holidays and winter season at home with family) I cannot complain because more couples getting married means more business for us. People get a hang of complaining and become chronic complainers. Complaining getting stuck in traffic when they should be thankful driving a car when there are people walking for miles just to get where they want to go. Some people complain about their food when some people do not eat for days. Some people complain about their work when there are a lot who are jobless. We should all be thankful not only during Thanksgiving (which is just a few days away) but everyday of the year. I personally have allotted an area in my journal where I should write five things I am thankful for that week. Sometimes in my busyness I forget to write something on that list…but at least it reminds me everyday to count my blessings instead of focusing on my troubles.
We are indeed blessed and thankful for all the couples we met and still to meet. When we are chosen to be their wedding photographers and cinematographers, we never take it lightly because we are given a privilege and an important task to capture a moment if not taken can be lost forever. What we preserve are more important than the decor (they get disassembled), the flowers (they wilt), the food (they get spoiled), the music (they are forgotten the next day)…and the guests will talk about your wedding until they get invited to the next. We preserve memories which will last forever. We have two weddings to cover this weekend before we fly home to be with family for 5 days only and to celebrate our children’s joint birthday celebration. These moments are special to us so we want to capture these moments too.
So before we are whisked away by the moments we will be capturing, here is a beautiful wedding we shot last winter. Just to let you know how bad I am in catching with all the blog posts, this gorgeous couple already has a little one coming very soon.
