In our years of telling stories through wedding in Dubai, we’ve often encountered couples—especially from Arab weddings—who prefer privacy. They value keeping their special moments intimate, away from social media. For us, this is normal. So when Mavz and Romz, a Filipino couple, requested the same, we were genuinely surprised.
A Unique Request from a Filipino Couple
Filipino weddings are typically lively, with couples eager to share their joy with loved ones, both in person and online. But Mavz and Romz broke the mold. They wanted their love story to stay private, reminiscent of our experiences with Arab weddings. This felt different, as it’s not something we often see with Filipino couples.
A Challenge Turned Opportunity
When they asked us not to show their faces in the photos, we saw it as a challenge. How do we tell their love story without showing the couple? It was an opportunity to capture love in the little moments. Instead of focusing on posed shots, we turned our attention to the subtle gestures. The subtle way their fingers would find each other, the tender touch of Romz’s hand on Mavz’s back, told a story far deeper than any posed shot could. These were the moments that told their story, even without showing their faces.

This experience with Mavz and Romz was a reminder that love is universal, but how it’s shared can be so personal. While it’s normal for us to adjust to privacy requests in our work, especially in Dubai, it’s always a special learning experience when couples like Mavz and Romz remind us that every love story has its own flow, whether it’s shared publicly or kept behind closed doors. As a storyteller, this experience was deeply moving. It reminded us that love doesn’t always have to be loud or on display for the world to admire. Sometimes, it’s the quiet moments that are the most profound.
