Hello readers! Weekend is fast approaching and we are so looking forward to it with a family day in the park, 2 maternity shoots and a save-a-date!
Well, for the meantime, let me amuse you with a sweet Indian wedding of a beautiful couple. Ignatius (or Iggy) and Ardina contacted us in 2012 for their wedding. When we didn’t hear back from them, we thought they chose another photographer. They called us back a year later because according to them, the wedding got postponed. We consider ourselves blessed to be remembered and chosen for their big day.
Each culture has their own wedding traditions and Iggy and Ardina have a roce ceremony before the wedding. It is mainly a Mangalorean Catholic tradition where the parents and elders anoint the bride and groom with a roce (coconut and coconut oil). Nowadays, more than coconut oil is poured over their heads and bodies. Check out these photos. 🙂
Two days later was their wedding ceremony in St.Mary’s Church, Dubai. Ardina looked stunning and Iggy looked equally dashing.
We love capturing these moments as mother and daughter spend their last few minutes together before entering the church. Ardina looked nervous waiting in the Rolls Royce.
After the ceremony, we headed to Dubai Marina for some creative shots at The Address Hotel.
At 8pm, Iggy and Ardina entered the ballroom full of guests who showered them with confetti. The night’s emcee was Wendyl of Cornerstone events and he made sure there wasn’t an idle moment.
But the highlight of the night was the very romantic first dance. It was like straight out of a fairy tale with the balloon drop.
Before the night ended, Ardina changed into the sado for the Opsun divnchen ceremony. It is a very emotional part of the evening as the Ardina’s family “give her away” to the groom’s family.
But still, the night ended with a happy note as they did the chair dance!
